QA Automation Engineer



Piksel is always looking for technically gifted people, who are passionate about pushing boundaries and delivering awe-inspiring experiences to businesses and consumers across the World. In this occasion, we’re looking for several QA Automation Engineers for different teams in our office located in Malaga.

Key Responsibilities
• Automated and manual testing on projects and engagements
• Feature file and step definition provision, execution, defect logging
• Updating the project manager or scrum team, Leads or Automation Lead about the progress of testing, and any associated risks
• Testing meetings of the project, including, amongst others sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, showcases and retrospectives, or standard weekly project meetings
• Alerting of any issues on the project, for example: showstopper defects, changes to timescales

Please have in mind that we are looking for several QA Automation Engineer with different profiles so, depending on the team there could also be required the following:

• Championing quality through identifying areas of weakness within our applications
• Owning Product Quality by defining a clear test strategy with a consistent and structured approach
• Automating tests to run in our continuous delivery pipeline
• Developing and maintaining our test automation framework.

• Quality Assurance Management (Principles, methods, techniques and tools for the effective management of testing from initiation through to implementation for all types of testing but most specifically for automation testing)
• Automation Strategies: Principles, methods and techniques for defining automation test strategies, including implementing frameworks, technical approach
• Progress Reporting: Methods and techniques for reporting progress against an agreed plan
• Project Management Methodologies: Understanding of how QA should function when working on Projects using both waterfall and agile methodologies. Involvement in both project types, understands resource requirements, changed focus and timings between two
• Understanding of REST services and experience testing APIs
• Aware of version control, Configuration Management, Progress Reporting, Quality Assurance Management
• Good comprehension of test and defect management
• Deep understanding the software development lifecycle and key development technologies with a sound familiarisation of at least one methodology (Agile for preference)
• Desirable experience of working within a DevOps team
• Experience with Continuous Integration and/or Delivery

• Ability to use Quality Management Tools: Tools used to assist with test execution and test planning such as JIRA, Charles, Fiddler. Postman
• Familiar with Cucumber and Behavior Driven Development
• Skills such as test case provision (including edge, boundary and negative test cases), defect management and write up, test execution and test toolsets and techniques
• Ability to both work well within a team and independently
• Considerable knowledge of automation techniques and their application
• Understanding of testing methodologies (Integration Testing, System Testing, UAT, etc.)
