The Challenge

At Wallapop, we´re looking for an experienced Front-end engineer to join our team and contribute to the evolution of our web applications. As part of this role, you´ll help shape how we deliver meaningful content to millions of customers, building both customer-facing web apps and internal tools.

In this position, you´ll take ownership of all stages of the development lifecycle - from design to deployment - while collaborating closely with design, product, and back-end teams to implement solutions that elevate the user experience.

What You Will Do
- Build and maintain scalable, high-performance web applications that deliver seamless and intuitive user experiences for millions of users.
- Transform designs and wireframes into clean, efficient, and reusable UI components that are responsive and accessible across devices.
- Write maintainable and testable code, adhering to best practices and incorporating unit and integration tests to ensure code quality.
- Collaborate with other peers during code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality, reliable code.
- Optimize our web applications for performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability, keeping the user experience a top priority.
- Work with cross-functional teams (product, design, back-end) to define technical requirements, estimate effort, and deliver high-quality solutions on time.

What We´re Looking For
- Experience building large-scale web applications using technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and Node.js.
- Proficiency in front-end frameworks and libraries, particularly React (Next.js preferred) and Angular.
- Proven understanding of UI/UX best practices and how to build user-friendly, intuitive applications.
- Solid experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Jasmine) and continuous delivery pipelines.
- Proven ability to collaborate in an agile environment, working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills and a growth mindset, with an openness to learning and knowledge sharing.

What Would Be A Plus
- A data-driven engineer, with experience in measuring the impact of features or initiatives.
- Familiarity with internationalization and localization, scaling products to support global users.
- Experience with AWS tools, especially CloudFront, S3, and ECS.
- Experience with SEO optimization & SEO tools.
- Knowledge of Node.js, Docker, WebSockets, or other relevant tools.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools to ensure application health and performance.
- Experience in web analytics, accessibility, security standards, and best practices.

Do note that all our jobs are Barcelona based. We follow a hybrid model where flexibility rules. We commit to a minimum of 6 days per month in the office. Each team self-organizes to decide on cadence and in-person/remote rituals.
