Your new role

All Engineers can benefit from mentoring and a Y shaped development path; whether you see yourself moving into a people leadership role as an Engineering Manager or focusing on developing your technical skills there is always a route for career progression. Scientists and engineers work to make hundreds of millions of user behaviour events from all around the world understandable for analysts and business users in the company, daily. This large data set is also one of the most diverse data sets in the world and we work with the latest data technologies (Spark, AWS services, Kafka). Tens of thousands of tasks are run every day to handle data processing jobs at this scale.

What you´ll need to succeed

You will need coding skills: focused on algorithms, data structures, programming languages, testing as well as live coding outside an IDE. Be ready for live coding using a real programming language (trade-offs, performance, code design and organisation). Computer Science Fundamentals and Algorithms: low level fundamentals, object oriented principles, databases, concurrency, distributed systems, cloud computing, data structures and design patterns. Data architecture: API, improve scalability, design database models & data pipelines.
